There are literally a million ways to explain diabetes.
This is mine:
For some UNKNOWN reason, my pancreas essentially ‘died’, and stopped producing insulin.
We need insulin to break down the sugar in our bodies.
Or else our blood we be like jam, as mine was when I was diagnosed way back in 2005.
(Yeah, cheers for that diabetes)
So to stop this from happening, I inject artificial insulin into my body every time I eat something and before bed, to keep me going through the night.
UNTIL NOW.
Now I have an insulin pump which does all this for me. No more injections. Just a site change every 3 days.
